1. Catch a Movie
If you need to kill a few hours, then a trip to Pacific Fair to watch a new flick is one way to do it! and who doesn’t love to treat themselves to some popcorn and an ice cream on a rainy day?
How to get there?
There are a few ways to get down to Pacific Fair Broadbeach from Surfers Paradise, the easiest option is to catch the G-Link from your closest stop down to Broadbeach South (end of the line) and walk across the bridge to the shopping centre. (this is the paid option).
Depending on the time of day, you can take advantage of Pacific Fair’s free shuttle service. (only operational Monday to Friday – 9am to 4pm)
(see google map pin here)
Hot Tip:
Check out the food court before buying a ticket as quite often they will offer discounted movie tickets with their meal deals!
Not a fan of a movie? Why not instead watch a live show such as Australian Outback Spectacular or Dracula’s?
2. Shop your heart out at Harbour Town Gold Coast
Already visited the local shops around Surfers & Broadbeach? Grab a bargain at Gold Coast’s very own premium shopping outlet – Harbour Town.
Please note: the shops are semi-undercover but still possible to enjoy when raining.
How to get there?
It’s not walking distance but luckily the outlet offers a free shuttle to get you there and back easily! Please note bookings are required.
(see google map pin here)
3. Bring out your inner child at Timezone
I know it sounds cheesy but if you have a competitive bone in your body, this becomes a fun few hours competing against your partner or friends!
How to get there?
Easily accessible from Cavill Ave & Paradise Centre shopping mall.
(see google map pin here)
Other options include Hijinx Hotel, Holey Moley, Zone Bowling, Archie Brothers, Escape Rooms or Top Golf.
4. Get a massage
Great afternoon out, especially for couples. You’re on holiday so why not relax? Surfers has a heap of day spas or Thai massage parlours where you can treat yourself whether it’s 30 minutes or an hour.

5. Visit a craft brewery
The coast is filled with a few different Mirco Breweries, so if that is your thing, you’re in luck. Escape the winter blues and check out local breweries for the afternoon. Why not even take a brewery tour or have a tasting?

These are just a few ideas to get you started. You could even go to the extreme of catching the G-Link & Train to Brisbane for a day out in another city. Either way, don’t let a day of rain ruin your trip to the “sunny” Gold Coast and ensure you get the most out of your holiday. Get out and explore!
